Ethiopia's Mass Wasting Risk Ethiopia is commonly known for having landslides, these consist of rockfall, earth slide, debris, and mudflow. These landslides happen due to consistent rainfall in Ethiopia. Unesco Uganda perfectly words this by stating, "Rains that go on for days while delivering little amounts of water cause more landslides because of high infiltration of the water into the soils causing stagnation." Due to rainfall being so consistent in Ethiopia and overall in certain parts of East Africa, this causes numerous landslides. Especially if there is nothing done to prevent these landslides.
